Linda
is the publisher of Dragon Threads and author
of numerous magazine articles and several
books. She has a broad-based experience
in the fashion fields. Her work spans the
gamut from custom high fashion garments to
commercially, mass-produced apparel. She has
worked as a fashion designer in the New York
garment industry with designers Koos van den
Akker and Cathy Hardwick and gained her retail
experience as a fashion merchandiser and assistant
buyer for Macy's New York and a buyer for
Victoria's Secret Catalogue.
Linda
holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Fashion
Design from Pratt Institute in New York and
has a Home Economics teaching certificate

The
Ohio State University. She has taught courses
on a number of different needlework subjects.
Her
lifelong love of needlework of all types dates
back to when she began sewing at the age of
eight. With her move to Columbus, Linda began
to research and explore smocking and Heirloom
sewing techniques.
As
part of her ongoing commitment to advance
the field, as well as her own knowledge, Linda
has been active with organizations in the
sewing, needlework and crafts areas. She is
currently concentrating on publishing innovative
sewing books by new artists and designing
embroidery cards. |
